About the Author Rosa Barovier Mentasti was born in Venice into one of the oldest Muranese glass working families. She has been the curator or co-curator of mant prestigious exhibits in Italy and abroad since 1977. Aside from writing articles for numerous magazines and reference books, Mentasti is the author of two important works: "Venetian Glass from the Middle Ages to Today" (Milan, Electa, 1982) and "Venetian Glass 1890-1990" (Venice, Arsenale, 1992).
